Field Training Exercise: Operation Crashing Saluki
ILWG Seniors and Cadets,
Group 1 will conduct a Field Training Exercise (Operation CRASHING SALUKI) at Pyramid State Park from 12 to 14 October. The exercise will begin on the evening of the 12th and conclude on the afternoon/evening of the 14th. The exercise will train/evaluate ground and air search & rescue skills, along with command and control in an austere environment. Plan on land navigation, missing aircraft searches, integration of air-ground resources, etc. We will also conduct training and testing on Ranger Third and Second Class tasks for those interested in attending Hawk Mountain Ranger School.
This exercise will be more challenging and complex than the last group FTX, and will require more equipment. All Ground Team personnel must have FULL 24 HOUR GEAR (list attached), plus the following 72 hour gear: tent (cadets of the same gender may share tents), field-appropriate food for the duration of the exercise, and sleeping bags. Camping fees are $2 per person and are due at the beginning of the exercise.
All personnel must have a completed emergency contact form and all cadets must have a completed and signed permission slip. You must also have General Emergency Services complete (no exceptions).
If you want to participate please sign up at the link ASAP. This is crucial so we can plan things like transportation.
