Colonel Al Reynoso

About the Commander

Colonel Al Reynoso’s CAP career has spanned 19 years in Illinois Wing. He has been Illinois Wing‘s Liaison to the Illinois Emergency Services Agency (IEMA) from 2023 to the present and, concurrently, Group 2, Illinois Wing's Emergency Services Officer from 2012 to the present. Before that, he commanded Group 2, Illinois Wing, from 2007 to 2010, was Group 2, Illinois Wing Deputy Commander from 2010 to 2016, and Emergency Services Officer from 2015 to 2017. Finally, Reynoso served as Advisor to the Illinois Wing Commander from 2012 to 2015.


He holds private pilot and commercial pilot ratings. He has earned Master Commander, Level 1 Incident Commander, Master Ground Team Member, Senior Emergency Services, Inspector General Technician, and Operations Officer Technician qualifications.

 

Reynoso’s military experience includes 24 years of service in Active and Reserve assignments in the US Army. Reynoso was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant of Artillery and commanded the Gun Section of an Artillery Battery as a First Lieutenant. He qualified as an Army Aviator and transferred to Aviation, where he became a founding member of the new Army Aviation Branch. As an Army Aviator, Captain Reynoso commanded the Headquarters company of an Aviation Battalion, followed by an overseas assignment as Executive Officer of a Combat Aviation Company (Attack). Major Reynoso then commanded a General Support Aviation Company for the 8th Infantry Division.  Upon joining the US Army Reserve as a Personnel Officer (S-1), he was part of the initial Staff forming a newly activated Reserve Aviation Group.  Major Reynoso then assumed command of Company B (Theatre), 2nd battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment.  Having been promoted, Lieutenant Colonel Reynoso assumed command of the 3rd Aviation Maintenance Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment.
His US Army education includes 15A Aviation, 15D Aviation Logistics, 48B Foreign Area Officer, Latin America, and 52A Nuclear Weapons. 
Lieutenant Colonel Reynoso is a US Military Academy graduate with an MBA from Webster University. His military education includes the US Army Maintenance and Test Pilot course, Command and General Staff College, Foreign Area Officers Course, Latin America, Aviation Staff Officers’ course, the Field Artillery Officers Advance and Field Artillery Officers Basic Course, and the Airborne course.
