2023 W9CAP SPECIAL EVENT STATION
Commemorating Civil Air Patrol’s 82nd Anniversary
DEC 1 (1200z) thru DEC 3 (2359z)

Beginning on Friday, December 1, 2021 at 1200z (6:00 AM Central), the Illinois Wing Civil Air Patrol Amateur Radio Club will conduct a Ham Radio Special Event Station (W9CAP) to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol performing volunteer missions for America. This is your chance to make contact with those stations across Illinois and receive a special QSL card. Be sure to thank those members for their volunteer service and ask how you can get involved in CAP too (Hams have skills we need). The event will end on Sunday, December 3, 2021 at 2359z (5:59 PM Central).

FREQUENCIES

The planned frequencies are:

  • 28.450 MHz USB
  • 18.125 MHz USB
  • 14.250 MHz USB
  • 7.225 MHZ LSB

Frequencies used are subject to change based on band conditions and activities. Be sure to hunt for W9CAP stations on all active Amateur HF bands and on the DX Clusters (and, as always, we appreciate you spotting us). You can also monitor, in real-time, the bands/modes that we are on and the contacts that we are making on the status page below:
