Illinois Wing and Miouri Wing of Civil Air Patrol flew photography missions to support Washington County residents who were recovering from damage caused by a derecho and severe storms. Photos provided to the Washington County Emergency Management Agency helped Illinois Governor JB Pritzker issue a disaster proclamation for eight storm-damaged counties, including Washington County on July 11^th.

Illinois Wing emergency services teams trained alongside dozens of other regional police, fire, and emergency services organizations.

Civil Air Patrol's Great Lake Region continues its 14-day disaster-relief/SAR exercise.  This operation simulates our ability to respond to flooding along the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers as well as our ability to manage other simultaneously occurring emergency missions. Today 6 March 2020, IL Wing completed aerial digital imaging of the greater Chicagoland expressways as simulated evacuation routes for the IL Department of Transportation.  Today's aerial sorties completed that tasking.  

Tomorrow major tasking will bring a new set of challenges to test the muster of all Emergency Services assets and resources as the Wing will attempt to bring current several overdue tasks that were delayed due to weather conditions.  It's not too late to participate!  Contact: rtaylor@ilwg.cap.gov or Kthirtyacre@ilwg.cap.gov if you wish to sharpen your skills.
